Intensive Trauma Healing
In EMDR processing we use dual awareness; you keep one foot in the present with me and one foot in the memory network. Travelling along the memory network is likened to looking out the window of a train and letting the scenery of the past fly on by.

Why choose intensive work?
You’re motivated and resolved to heal. Yet, the idea of cramming one more commitment into your weekly schedule doesn’t appeal to you. You’d prefer to devote one-half day or four days to your healing in a condensed timeframe.
You’re eager to get started and don’t want to spend the next several months on a waitlist.
Research supporting the effectiveness of EMDR Intensives.
Intensive application of trauma-focused therapy seems to be well tolerated in patients with PTSD, enabling faster symptom reduction with similar, or even better, results, while reducing the risk that patients drop out prematurely. Learn more here and here.
Intensive EMDR treatment is feasible and is indicative of reliable improvement in PTSD symptoms in a very short time frame. Learn more here.
An intensive program using EMDR therapy is a potentially safe and effective treatment alternative for complex PTSD. Learn more here.
The economy is compelling: even compared to other trauma therapy, the intensive format may decrease treatment time, because of time not spent on a) updating the therapist on all the changes in your life since last week’s session, b) getting side-tracked by current crises and concerns, c) focusing on stabilizing for several months or even years before processing trauma and freeing yourself from symptoms, or d) spending the last third of each weekly therapy session on grounding and containing. Spaciousness & Wellbeing Retreats
Being intentional about devoting precious time and space to your healing can result in fewer distractions and increased rates of treatment completion.
I encourage clients to seize this opportunity to clear their schedules and focus on giving it your all. Periods of rest following processing work support integration. So, you’ll want to clear your calendar of work commitments and family obligations. You may choose to go for a walk in nature or practice olfactory breathing with your favorite essential oil scents.
